Type 2 Diabetes is the most common one found in people with diabetes. Thousands of people around the world suffer this disease. So far there is no cure for type 2 Diabetes but it is certainly can be prevented and managed.

For people with type 2 Diabetes, it should not be a barrier to normal life. With knowledge regarding diabetes and balance diet, there is no reason why they can not live normally.
Diabetes can affect everyone, but it more likely found in mature adults or people with excessive body weight and insufficient physical activity.

Diabetes is a condition of too much glucose, a type of sugar, in the blood. The body uses glucose as its main source of energy. It comes from foods that contain carbohydrates such as potatoes, bread, pasta and rice, fruit and milk. After food is digested, the glucose is released and absorbed into the bloodstream. In normal circumstances, insulin helps sugar (glucose) in the blood to enter body cells for to be transformed into energy. For people with diabetes, the pancreas can not produce insulin or enough insulin to do the job properly. If the insulin can’t do its job, the glucose builds up in the blood. And eve if there is high glucose in the blood, the person still feel lack of energy.

Experts and doctors believe lifestyle is one of the major factor can be blamed for this disease such as being overweight or obese, especially around the waist, low levels of physical activity, unhealthy eating habits, and cigarette smoking.

However there are something you can do to manage and control your diabetes and life normally:
- Test your blood glucose levels regularly.
- Use any medication strictly as prescribed by your doctor.
- Avoid high sugar and fatty food, such as sweets, lollies, sweet biscuits.
- Do exercise and be physically active.
- Have a healthy diet. Ask your dietitian for the best diet plan to suit your circumstances.
- Do not worry, keep a positive mental attitude.
