If you are into car modification or racing, you are probably familiar with BBS alloy wheels, the well known and fine alloy wheels. Many of BBS alloy wheels circulating in the market are mostly from Germany and Japan. However, as usual, there are always Chinese fakes on almost every product, who want to have cuts in profit by faking it. Here are some tips to identify the genuine BBS alloy wheels:

1. The size and offset number are printed on the surface of the center face. The German one are written even more detail with the part number.

2. Remove the hubcap of on the center where the BBS logo is and observe the surface, there should be an embossed logo of BBS. There is also an embossed ‘Made in Germany’ writing, that means the wheel is originaly from German manufacturer. If the writing is only ‘Germany’, that means coming from Japanese manufacturer.

3. There are embossed BBS logo on almost every items/ signs on the wheel, even there is an engraved BBS on every bolt.

4. On the alloy wheels with 3 pieces constructions, the color of the bolt of German BBS is a bit yellowish while the Japanese one is close to Chrome color.
